What Phase 3 (Desire) Teaches Us About Fear, Vision, and Forward Motion
There’s a moment in every growth cycle when your clarity sharpens — just enough to scare you.
You get a glimpse of what you really want.
Not the safe version. Not the marketable version.
The true version.
And almost immediately, the resistance shows up.
Suddenly, you’re second-guessing yourself.
You can’t tell if you’re feeling stuck… or just afraid.
You start questioning your niche, your offers, your voice — all of it.
This is not a setback.
This is Phase 3: Desire — and the resistance you’re feeling might be the best sign you’ve had in a while.
Desire Is Where the Real Work Begins
In the 8-Phase Framework (AIDASLAR), Desire is where you stop strategizing around your limitations… and start visioning from your truth.
The full cycle:
Awareness → Interest → Desire → Action → Satisfaction → Loyalty → Advocacy → Reflection
Desire is the turning point.
It’s where you decide what you want to build — not what you think you should.
And that’s exactly why resistance shows up here:
Because now it’s real.
Now it matters.
Now there’s something at stake.
Resistance Is a Signal, Not a Stop Sign
Most people assume that resistance means something’s wrong.
That they’re out of alignment.
That they need to back off or rethink the plan.
But here’s what I’ve seen — again and again — with clients and inside the 8-Phase Hub:
Resistance is often proof that you’re on the edge of real transformation.
It shows up not because you’re on the wrong path, but because you’re finally walking a path that feels alive.
The key isn’t to push through it or shut it down — it’s to get curious about it.
Ask:
- What am I afraid might happen if this works?
- What belief is bumping up against my desire?
- What part of me doesn’t yet feel safe to want what I want?
What Phase 3 Can Teach You About Your Next Move
Phase 3 isn’t about certainty — it’s about ownership.
You don’t need a full plan.
You just need to name what you want — and stay with it long enough to let the next steps emerge.
That could mean:
- Honoring the fact that your current offer isn’t lighting you up anymore
- Admitting that your audience has evolved, and so have you
- Letting go of a structure that worked before, but doesn’t anymore
This is the internal shift that makes Phase 4 (Action) effective — because now, you’re not acting from confusion. You’re acting from desire.
Want Support Moving Through the Resistance?
Inside The 8-Phase Hub, we explore the full Desire phase — including what to do with resistance, how to stay grounded in your vision, and what to expect when everything inside you is telling you to turn back.
This is where most people abandon the cycle.
But when you stay with it? That’s where aligned action begins.
